Having worked in India, UAE, and Australia for 35 years, Sandeep has established a strong reputation for achieving excellence in large and complex projects for educational, transportation, health and research facilities, institutional buildings, commercial buildings, as well as defense establishments.
Sandeep started his career in 1988 with architect Dr. Balkrishna Doshi and worked under his direct mentorship till 1991. Although a fresh graduate, he was entrusted by Dr. Doshi with leadership roles for several large projects – including a religious center for Aurobindo and a large township in Alibaug.
While in Australia after freelancing for a couple of years, Sandeep joined DesignInc in 1995 as Project Architect. He was appointed an Associate Director of the practice in 1999, a Director in 2005, and served as the Managing Director from 2011 until his retirement in 2021. He was instrumental in steering the practice through a troublesome phase of the Global Financial Crisis and then growing it fourfold maintaining over 100 technical staff in the Sydney-based studio. He also established a branch office in UAE for three years with a clear strategy to exit after scaling it up. He was the pioneer in forming Australia’s first Aboriginal Architectural practice to be listed on Supply Nation called Nguluway DesignInc, that aligned social upliftment, giving back to the community and the country with business outcomes.
Sandeep has developed an excellent reputation for managing all phases of project delivery from inception to construction coordination whilst leading multidisciplinary design teams as well as growing and managing an innovative, inclusive and leading practice for its governance and culture. After gaining invaluable experience in Australia for nearly thirty years Sandeep has returned to India with a humble hope of contributing back to his motherland. His hands-on approach helps HCP show innovation in practice and project management, application of complex building techniques, construction sequencing, and implementing innovative technology for projects as well as practice.
