Hasmukh Patel founded HCP as a three-man office in 1960 after obtaining a B.Arch from MS University, Vadodara and an M.Arch from Cornell University, New York. His practice has since grown in strength to over 200 people with a legacy of over 800 built projects. His work covers a diverse range of projects, all of which are practical, modest, easy to maintain and user-friendly structures. Some of his most celebrated projects are the Chinubhai Centre, Patang Hotel, Newman Hall, Centre Point Apartments, St. Xavier's Primary School, Reserve Bank of India and Dena Bank. He was the Honorary Director at the School of Architecture, CEPT, Ahmedabad from 1972 to 1981 and Dean from 1978 to 1988 during which period CEPT consolidated its position as a premier institution. He served as visiting professor at many universities in India and abroad. Hasmukhbhai was also an avid painter, and loved exploring different mediums of output for his creativity.Â

Dr. Bimal Patel is an architect, urbanist and academic who has traversed disciplinary, professional and institutional boundaries to explore the ways in which architecture, urban design and urban planning can enrich the lives of people in India’s cities. He heads HCP as its Chairman and Managing Director. Bimal received a Diploma in Architecture from the CEPT, Ahmedabad, in 1984. He received a Master’s in Architecture and a Masters in City Planning in 1988 and a PhD in City and Regional Planning in 1995 from the University of California, Berkeley. In 1996, Bimal founded Environmental Planning Collaborative (EPC), a not-for-profit consultancy and policy-research and advocacy organization. Since 2012, he has also been heading CEPT University as President. His work has won numerous awards, including the Padma Shri in 2019, which is amongst the highest civilian honors conferred by the President of India.Â

Bobby is an architect and academician with over 25 years of international design experience including project design leadership and principal level practice leadership. He joined HCP as Director of Design in 2012, after being associated with the firm since the early 1990s.Â
Bobby has a B.A. Honours degree in Architecture from Kingston University, and a postgraduate A.A. Diploma with Honours from the Architectural Association in London. He has steered complex projects from their conceptual beginnings to detailed resolution and successful delivery in India, China, Australia, Korea and Europe. He worked with Ron Herron, Terry Farrell, B.V. Doshi, and also ran his own practice in central London. He has also taught at prestigious institutions in the UK, Australia and India.Â
Bobby’s works have been reproduced in numerous books and been exhibited at The Royal Academy of Arts, RIBA and A.A. He maintains strong relationships with design professionals and academic institutions around the world, broadening HCP’s design dialogue and exploring collaborative international opportunities for HCP. Â

Dipak Kotecha is a Director and has been associated with HCP since November 2011. He completed a diploma in architecture from Center of Environmental Planning and Technology, Ahmedabad in 1983 and RIBA Part III from Leicester Polytechnic, UK. He has been a Chartered Member of the Royal Institute of British Architects since 1987.
Dipak has worked in various well-known practices in UK and has a well-rounded experience in the field of architecture and interior design. He has consistently led large teams and delivered projects across all work streams, including commercial, retail, residential, leisure, educational, institutional and hospitality. In 2007, Dipak established a new office for a British architectural company in Mumbai and built it up to a healthy, 35-strong practice over four years.
At HCP, Dipak is responsible for mentoring and leading the Central Vista project as well as helping out on general operational aspects of the practice.

Ismet Khambatta is an architect and urban designer with over thirty years of professional experience in diverse areas of design. She divides her time between HCP and TDW Furniture Pvt. Ltd., where she is the founder and managing director.
TDW is a furniture, design, manufacturing and retail company based in Ahmedabad, which specializes in contemporary solid timber furniture, for homes, offices, institutes and the hospitality industry. She also heads Façade Applications for Conservation of Energy (FACE) a division of TDW, which designs and manufactures exterior shading systems for building facades.
Apart from her professional work, Ismet Khambatta contributes regularly as an external examiner and jury member at the National Institute of Design (NID) and CEPT University, Ahmedabad.

Kamlesh Mehta has been associated with HCP since August 1984 after completing B.Arch from Nagpur University. As a senior architect with 33 years of experience at HCP, Kamlesh has been the principal architect on several types of projects like commercial, real-estate, townships and housing. He constantly strives towards maximizing building efficiency and land utilization.
During his long career at HCP, he has also led service oriented dairy projects and stadiums such as Eden garden stadium and Cochin stadium. Some other significant projects that he has worked on are Applewoods Township, Safal Profitaire, Wagh Bakri House and Shamlaji Temple Development.

Krunal has over 30 years of experience in Buildings & Infrastructure sector working across various geographies (India, USA, UK & Australia). Niki Shah is an architect and urban designer with more than 15 years of experience. He studied B.Arch. at M.S. University, Vadodara and M.Sc. in Urbanism at TU Delft. He was awarded the prestigious Netherlands Fellowship (HSP Huygens) Programme Scholarship for studies at Delft.Â
Niki leads the Urban Design studio and mentors a multidisciplinary team of architects, urban designers and planners. With an eye for detail and a deep understanding of urban development issues, he brings a unique direction to the practice. Significant projects that he has worked on include Central Vista Redevelopment, Delhi; Amochhu Riverfront and Township Development, Bhutan; Sabarmati Riverfront Development, Ahmedabad; and Mumbai Port Complex Master Plan.Â
Niki is also involved in photography and graphic design for HCP’s publication and outreach activities. He also engages with universities as a resource person, jury member and thesis guide for research and design projects in an urban context.Â

Having worked in India, UAE, and Australia for 35 years, Sandeep has established a strong reputation for achieving excellence in large and complex projects for educational, transportation, health and research facilities, institutional buildings, commercial buildings, as well as defense establishments. Â
Sandeep started his career in 1988 with architect Dr. Balkrishna Doshi and worked under his direct mentorship till 1991. Although a fresh graduate, he was entrusted by Dr. Doshi with leadership roles for several large projects - including a religious center for Aurobindo and a large township in Alibaug.Â
While in Australia after freelancing for a couple of years, Sandeep joined DesignInc in 1995 as Project Architect. He was appointed an Associate Director of the practice in 1999, a Director in 2005, and served as the Managing Director from 2011 until his retirement in 2021. He was instrumental in steering the practice through a troublesome phase of the Global Financial Crisis and then growing it fourfold maintaining over 100 technical staff in the Sydney-based studio. He also established a branch office in UAE for three years with a clear strategy to exit after scaling it up. He was the pioneer in forming Australia's first Aboriginal Architectural practice to be listed on Supply Nation called Nguluway DesignInc, that aligned social upliftment, giving back to the community and the country with business outcomes.Â
Sandeep has developed an excellent reputation for managing all phases of project delivery from inception to construction coordination whilst leading multidisciplinary design teams as well as growing and managing an innovative, inclusive and leading practice for its governance and culture. After gaining invaluable experience in Australia for nearly thirty years Sandeep has returned to India with a humble hope of contributing back to his motherland. Rajiv Shah has been associated with HCP since 2010 bringing over 19 years of engineering experience to the practice. In 1990, he studied Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) at Gujarat University and in 1997 he studied Local Self-Government Diploma at All India Institute of Local Self Government, Ahmedabad. After that he pursued a post-graduate diploma in water-sanitation management from CEED, CEPT in 2004.
At HCP, he is responsible for heading the PMC arm of the company, overseeing all PMC projects and nurturing young engineers on site. Some of the key projects that he has worked on are the Civil Hospital and Safal Profitarie.

Vipin Gupta completed a diploma in architecture from CEPT, Ahmedabad in 1984. He has worked with renowned practices in Delhi and has a rich experience in the field of architecture. He has consistently led large teams and delivered projects across all work streams, including commercial, retail, residential, leisure, educational, institutional and hospitality.
Vipin played an instrumental role in establishing the first Faculty of Architecture in Haryana and was one of the founding teachers at Sushant School of Art and Architecture. Alongside this, he established his office in Delhi where he worked with the governments of Sri Lanka, Mizoram, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh and Delhi. He has also worked with Mr. J. A. Stein, DLF Hospitality, Eigen International, Meinhardt Pte and REPL in leadership roles before joining HCP.
